Alec Erlebacher has always had a passion for science, technology and the creative process. While exploring a variety of artistic mediums and materials, whether it be photography, video, or sculpture, he constantly seeks out new ways of expression. Captivated by the impression of reality, he produces work that is unique to his vision. With his ever-growing technical knowledge he meticulously delves into each project with a passion for quality and innovation. He has studied longstanding analog technologies and processes, which he attempts to implement into his work whenever possible for a more natural look, remnant of the analog magic that used to exist. Alec received his BA in Media Studies while minoring in Fine Arts at the University at Buffalo. He is currently working toward his Master’s degree in Photography at S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
One of Alec’s most recent projects is exploring a photographic technique he developed called “Cubism-Lighting”. This technique implements long exposure photography with colorful lighting to reveal the vicissitude of time. The result is an un-manipulated surreal, sometimes ethereal photograph.
